Once again, the “Christmas Through the Ages” Christmas tree display will be at the Territorial Capital Museum in Historic Lecompton, Kansas. Over 240 Christmas trees will be decorated in Victorian, antique, themed and vintage ornaments and accessories. In it’s twenty fifth year, it has become a favorite activity of the Lecompton Historical Society members who are responsible for decorating the museum for this event. Trees are displayed in every room and in hallways on each of the three floors in the museum. Visitors come from all over the country to see this fabulous display and enjoy reminiscing about holidays of their pasts.
The display begins November 1, 2024 and runs through January 5, 2025. The museum hours are 10a – 4p, Wednesday through Saturday and 1p – 5p on Sundays. Tours are available for large groups and can be custom planned to include the Constitution Hall and the Territorial Capital Museum and performances by the Lecompton Reenactors. There are several options for meals as well as shopping in the quaint downtown.
No fee is charged to see the tree display but donations can be made on-site which helps us continue this well-loved tradition. For tours or additional information, call 785-887-6148.
